In FY25/26, the top trade was Vanguard’s Australian Shares Index ETF (ASX: VAS), followed by Vanguard’s MSCI Index International Shares ETF (ASX: VGS) and iShares’ S&P 500 ETF (ASX: IVV). This remains unchanged from FY24/25. As for individual stocks, the most-traded stock was CSL (ASX: CSL), which rose significantly in the rankings compared to last financial year. The majority of trades in CSL were buy trades, suggesting that investors may have been taking advantage of the stock’s downward trend since the beginning of the financial year. It’s also worth noting that there were a number of new entrants to the rankings, half of which were US stocks or ETFs. Much like last year, it was an ETF-heavy snapshot, with 9 of the top 20 trades belonging to ETFs.
