In FY25/26, SMSF investors’ top trade was in CSL (ASX: CSL), which rose from #3 in FY24/25 to dethrone Woodside Energy (ASX: WDS) this financial year. CSL was also the top trade for Australian Sharesight users in general, with investors likely seeking to take advantage of the stock’s downward trend since the beginning of the financial year. Woodside and BHP (ASX: BHP) remained in the top three SMSF trades of the financial year, albeit swapping places compared to the previous financial year. Perhaps the most interesting development was the rise of WiseTech Global (ASX: WTC) from #13 in FY24/25 to #4 in FY25/26. The company has been under intense scrutiny (with share price swings to match) since the previous financial year when the founder and CEO resigned due to reports of inappropriate conduct with an employee.
