How to import your historical trades from TD Direct to Sharesight

There are two ways to import your holdings from TD Direct (Toronto Dominion) Investing into Sharesight:

Buy & Sell history

Holding summary as opening balance

Buy & Sell history

  1. Log into TD Direct WebBroker

  2. Click Order Status on the top right (tick button)

  3. Click Historical > Filled

  4. Select Custom date range to cover all trades since inception

  5. Export all the trades as csv file

  6. Login to Sharesight

  7. Click on Search for your broker or Add investment then Upload via broker.

  8. Search & select TD Direct tile.

  9. Upload file

  10. Click Import


Holding summary

  1. Log into TD Direct WebBroker

  2. Click Accounts

  3. Select the correct Sub-account

  4. Export all holdings as csv file

  5. Login to Sharesight

  6. Click on Search for your broker or Add investment then Upload via broker.

  7. Search & select TD Direct tile.

  8. Upload file

  9. Click Import

Sharesight will automatically create dividends and corporate actions for the holdings you have imported.

Your returns will be calculated with Sharesight’s performance calculation methodology, which is a money-weighted return methodology, meaning the performance figures take account of the size and timing of cash flows.

Setup automatic sync for ongoing trades

You can manually add ongoing trades or email the trade confirmation using steps below:

  1. Log into TD Direct WebBroker

  2. Click Accounts

  3. Click Document eServices > Confirmations

  4. Download the PDF trade confirmation

  5. Email the trade confirmation to your portfolio email address

The trade should be added in the portfolio in 5 minutes.
