Sharesight users' top 20 trades in US, ASX and NZX stocks – June 2023

Welcome to the June 2023 edition of Sharesight’s monthly trading snapshot, where we look at the top buy and sell trades by Sharesight users over the month. This month we have combined the snapshots for US stocks (including the Nasdaq, NYSE and AMEX), the ASX and NZX, providing a short summary of the key events for each market. Top ASX trades in June 2023

This month’s top ASX trades were strongly led by Vanguard’s Australian Shares Index ETF (ASX: VAS), followed by CSL (ASX: CSL), which saw its share price drop following the announcement of its revised FY23 profit forecast. Overall, this month’s top trades were led by index-tracking ETFs and blue chip stocks in the mining and banking sectors.

Top NZX trades in June 2023

This month’s top NZX trades were overwhelmingly led by ETFs, in particular Smartshares’ US 500 (NZX: USF) and NZ Top 50 (NZX: FNZ) ETFs. In terms of individual stocks, trades were led by Infratil (NZX: IFT), which announced its intention to raise NZ$850 million to acquire One New Zealand. As usual, the top NZX trades were dominated by ETFs, with 15 of the top 20 trades belonging to ETFs.

This month’s top US trades were strongly led by Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA), which reportedly dominated European vehicle sales in May following a series of price cuts. Trades were followed by Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL), which was heading towards a US$3 trillion market cap by the end of the month (at the time of publishing). Overall, this month’s top US trades were primarily led by tech stocks, with 13 of the top 20 trades belonging to stocks in the tech, EV, e-commerce, semiconductor and aerospace industries.
